Establishing a Water and Trash Account

New residential and commercial customers must complete an application for water service.

Residential Customers

The deposit for new residential users is $125.00.  New residential customers must complete the application in the presence of utility billing staff and present a picture identification card.

Residential trash is picked-up on Mondays and Thursdays. Residents may place trash in plastic bags, aluminum trash cans, or rent a 96-gallon rollcart from the city at a fee of $4.91 per month.

Residents wishing to dispose of bulk trash items will need to pick-up a “Bulk Trash” ticket from the Utility Billing Department. The "Bulk Trash” ticket can be used to drop-off bulky trash items and brush at the:

Commercial Customers

Commercial customers may submit an application by fax. New commercial service will begin after the deposit for commercial is received. The deposit for commercial users is based on the size of the water meter.

Commercial users must contract with Waste Management for trash pick-up. Contact Waste Management at 972-842-5800 to establish service.


Water, Sewer and Trash Billing and Payment
Bills for water, sewer, and trash pick-up are mailed to customers on the first day of each month. The city currently accepts only cash, checks, and/or money orders for payments. Payments may also be placed in the night deposit box located at the front of City Hall.

The City of Wilmer has separate billing rates for residential and commercial water users.
