Our transportation service is a demand response program (first come, first serve). We try our best to work in all appointments with as little waiting time as possible. As soon as you receive a doctor appointment, please call and get it on the schedule even if it is 2 or 3 months ahead.
Dallas County Visiting Nurse Association provides a nurse to come the fourth Friday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. to check blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and quarterly cholesterol check. Flu shots are given during the October visit.
Another service we offer is transportation to the Lancaster Outreach Center. The Center offers meal items through its food pantry and the People and Nutrition (PAN) program. The PAN Program for people 60 and older is provided by the North Texas Food Bank. Once accepted, clients are eligible to receive PAN Boxes containing non-perishable food items such as powdered milk, cereal, juice, and/or canned goods. Bus seating to the Lancaster Outreach Center is limited to 10 people. Bus pick-ups begin at 8:15 a.m on the second Thursdays of every month.
Membership and transportation applications are available at the Senior Center and are free to all seniors 55 and older.
